The music is not in the notes

Mozart once said, "The music is not in the notes, it is in the silence in between"
Yet I see most founders treat their businesses like a Bollywood mashup, where every second is filled with noise, action, meetings, features or updates. No pause. No breath. Just constant motion. मलतब, कुछ न कुछ तो हमेशा होते ही रहना चाहिए.
Last month, I watched a brilliant founder tank his startup. Not from lack of funding or bad product-market fit. He was always constantly drowned in activity. Daily standups became hourly checkins. One product feature became fifty. Simple customer emails turned into seventeen-slide presentations. The guy mistook motion for progress.
Here's what Mozart understood that we don't, silence creates value. In music, it builds tension, creates rhythm, makes the next note matter. In business, strategic emptiness serves the same purpose.
However, in practice it's much harder than it sounds. It takes guts to say that we're not adding that feature, its takes confidence to leave Tuesday afternoon completely blank on your calendar. It demands discipline to end a presentation after seven slides when everyone expects twenty.
What you leave out defines you as much as what you include. or Maybe even more.
