i think about this often. Most people i meet... smart people, talented people... they already know where the banana is. They've done the research. They've read the books. They've probably even made a spreadsheet about it.
But they won't climb.
Because climbing is messy. You might slip. People are watching. And what if the banana isn't even that good once you get there.
The monkey doesn't think about any of this. It sees the banana, it climbs. No strategy deck, no "let me think about it over the weekend." Just movement.
I've seen this with founders, with job seekers, with people sitting on ideas for years. The problem was never that they didn't know what to do. The problem was they were waiting for the climb to feel safe. And climbing never feels safe.
The banana doesn't come down. It never has.
