All HealthTech companies are going to become Hospitals soon !!!
So Pristyn Care just opened 5 big hospitals around Delhi this year. That's not all they want 50 more in the next 3 years.
Even companies like Healthcare and PB Fintech (the Policybazaar guys) are jumping into the hospital game. PB Healthcare raised $218 million just to build a massive 1,000-bed hospital. That's crazy money for something most startups usually run away from.
For years, tech startups hated anything that needed big upfront spending. Hospitals? Too expensive, too complicated, too old school.
But now they're all doing it. Why?
Simple. Hospitals actually make money in India. The top 5 hospitals made 47,000 crores last year. That's real money.
Hospitals are full stack care, they handle everything. Your tests, treatment, check-ups, the whole deal. No running around to different places.
These startups aren't being dumb about it though. They're picking simpler procedures that happen often and aren't super risky. They're using apps and digital stuff to manage patients better. And instead of paying doctors just for seeing more people, they're paying them for actually helping patients get better.
Honestly, if you're building something in healthcare, you can learn more from studying a hospital business than downloading apps of their competitors.
